When a dispute calls for a measured path to resolution

Every dispute is different.

Disputes often reach a point where resolution becomes increasingly complex and delayed. Uncertainty grows.

Confrontation begins to drive decision-making more than long-term objectives.

At that point, reframing the situation and assessing the available options become essential.

LAiW helps you take a structured view of a dispute as a whole: to identify the options, evaluate their implications and move forward in a way that supports your long-term objectives.

Managing commercial disputes

LAiW analyses the objectives that are critical to business continuity and works with the company's management to establish a framework that makes dispute management proactive and effective.

Its purpose is to identify, manage, monitor and resolve commercial disputes.

The model combines the company's business principles for handling disputes with consistent processes: responsibilities, methods and control.

It ensures timely and informed decision-making. The objective is predictable, controlled and cost-effective dispute management.

The process frees up resources and preserves customer relationships. It also supports the company's sustainability objectives.

Mediation and arbitration in commercial disputes

LAiW provides mediation services in which confidential dialogue between the parties can progress in a controlled and constructive manner towards resolution of the dispute.

The objective is to find a solution that takes the parties' interests into account without escalating confrontation.

Arbitration is an efficient and confidential alternative to court proceedings.

Ralf Lindbäck, founding partner of LAiW, is dedicated to serving as an independent arbitrator in international and domestic disputes.

Ralf Lindbäck, FCIArb

Ralf Lindbäck is an independent international mediator and arbitrator in private practice, with earlier corporate executive and senior legal leadership experience in complex cross-border and regulated environments.

His practice includes appointments in international commercial matters, alongside advisory work on dispute governance, claims management and corporate processes. It draws on extensive experience in cross-border commercial transactions and dispute resolution, together with senior in-house leadership roles involving work with management, regulators and external counsel across jurisdictions.

Mediation and arbitration appointments are undertaken with independence, discretion and clear separation from advisory work.

Advisory work centres on governance, dispute avoidance and mitigation, escalation and practical process design rather than advocacy. It includes support for management decision-making, shaped by corporate culture and sustainability.
